Welcome to the

South Atlantic Region of the ISKF

The dojos within the South Atlantic Region of the International Shotokan Karate Federation (ISKF) teach a traditional Japanese martial art focused on discipline, precise techniques, and respect for others. All while focusing on the individuals personal development. The ISKF was established by the late Master Teruyuki Okazaki, who studied under Master Gichin Funakoshi, who is known as the "father of modern karate". The ISKF is now led by its Chairman and Chief Instructor, Shihan Hiroyoshi Okazaki. Additionally, the ISKF is a non-profit organization, which is committed to upholding the principles taught by Master Funakoshi, which include those in both the Dojo Kun and Niju Kun. While deeply rooted in tradition, the ISKF is dedicated to providing exceptional martial arts instruction to all its members worldwide. Interested in Joining the ISKF? Shotokan dojos located in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina are welcome to become members of the International Shotokan Karate Federation (ISKF) through the South Atlantic Region. ISKF membership offers a direct connection to one of the world’s most respected traditional karate organizations, providing access to standardized technical instruction, internationally recognized rank certification through ISKF certified examiners, high-level seminars and training opportunities, regional, national and international tournaments, and ongoing instructor development. Member dojos also benefit from mentorship, organizational support, and participation in a structured regional network committed to preserving and advancing traditional Japanese Shotokan karate. For additional information about joining the ISKF, please contact our South Atlantic Regional Director at jweber@SouthAtlanticISKF.com Our Mission “The mission of the South Atlantic Region is to preserve and promote traditional Japanese karate through exceptional instruction, coordinated regional development, and strict adherence to ISKF standards.”
